Guy Thomas

Guy has had a lifelong interest in aviation heritage, building an extensive knowledge of historic aircraft and the wider development of flight. Over the years, he has written and published a number of aeronautical articles and produced detailed aviation drawings, combining careful research with an appreciation of aircraft design and engineering.

Since retiring, Guy has devoted more time to sharing his enthusiasm with others. He developed an Aviation & Auto Heritage website covering subjects connected with historic aircraft and vehicles and is Chairman of the East Hertfordshire Aviation Society. Through the society, he helps encourage interest in aviation history and provides opportunities for enthusiasts to learn more about the people, technology and events associated with flight.

Guy is also a volunteer with the Royal Air Force Museum at Hendon, where he leads guided tours for visitors. His familiarity with the museum and its collections allows him to provide valuable context around the aircraft on display, explaining their development, purpose and place within the broader story of aviation.

Alongside his museum work, Guy gives talks on a wide range of aviation topics. His presentations draw upon his longstanding research and personal enthusiasm, making the subject accessible to experienced aviation enthusiasts and those discovering it for the first time.
