Aure Garozzo

Aure Garozzo leads Travel Editions Sicily tours with the warmth and insight of a local, sharing the island’s history, culture, food and lesser-known places.

Aure Garozzo

Born and raised in Sicily, Aure has been a certified tour guide since 2014. His aim is to show Sicily through the eyes of a local friend — combining its major historic and cultural sights with the stories, details and lesser-known corners that give each place its individual character.

His guiding style is friendly, accessible and entertaining. He is equally at home exploring ancient Greek and Roman remains, Norman and Baroque architecture, traditional industries and the complex layers of history that have shaped the island.

His work with Travel Editions takes him across Sicily, from the Baroque towns and coastal landscapes of the south-east — popularised in recent years by the Inspector Montalbano TV series — to Palermo, Monreale and the archaeological sites of the west. This breadth of experience allows him to reveal the contrasts between Sicily’s regions while explaining the shared influences that connect them.

A passionate foodie, Aure regards Sicilian cuisine as an essential part of understanding the island. He enjoys introducing guests to regional dishes, street food, local markets and traditional products, from Modica’s chocolate-making heritage to the wine and food traditions of the west.

Throughout each tour, Aure combines expert organisation with warmth, humour and genuine enthusiasm. His local knowledge and approachable manner help travellers feel well looked after while gaining a richer understanding of Sicily beyond its celebrated monuments.
