Jane Freeman
Jane Freeman is Travel Editions’ Greece Product and Operations Manager and one of the people responsible for developing the company’s distinctive programme of Greek tours. Based in Crete, she has spent many years living, working and travelling in Greece, building a deep understanding of both the islands and the mainland.
Jane originally developed her connection with the country through Crete, where many Travel Editions tours are still based. In more recent years, she has explored mainland Greece extensively, seeking out regions that remain largely unfamiliar to international visitors. Her discoveries have helped inspire and shape tours across northern Greece and beyond, expanding the programme to include history, nature, walking, culinary and cultural experiences.
What Jane most enjoys is revealing the Greece that exists beyond its famous archaeological sites and popular resorts. She is drawn to small towns, mountain landscapes, traditional villages, regional food and places where visitors can experience everyday Greek life. Her knowledge of local suppliers and communities allows her to introduce guests to authentic experiences, from relaxed mezze-style meals to encounters with the warmth and open-hearted hospitality for which Greece is known.
Jane is particularly enthusiastic about destinations that even returning visitors may not have encountered before. She believes that Greece’s lesser-known lakes, landscapes, traditions and natural environments deserve to be shared, and she takes great care in creating tours that balance discovery with comfort and a relaxed pace.
As a tour manager, Jane is warm, organised and attentive, ensuring that guests feel well looked after throughout their journey. Her long-standing relationship with Greece, combined with her curiosity and enthusiasm, helps travellers experience the country not simply as visitors, but with a richer appreciation of its people, culture and character.
